Sell it off (2)

Interview with Brigt Dale, anthropologist, Svolvær, February 2015

The petroleum minister at the time, Jens Stoltenberg –who is now head of NATO– he had been working with petroleum since near the 1980s, but he was also being concerned about climate change very early, and he also promoted internationally a CO2 tax.
–So, at the same time promoting a CO2 tax, but recognizing that it could affect the value of oil, would mean that it’s better to extract sooner…?
–…and sell it off, and put that in a pension fund! That’s how you would ensure or secure a future based on petroleum. Not because we would still have oil, but because we would have sold it all.
