Hurricane

Interview with Frederico Rudorff, geographer, June 2013, Florianopolis

It wasn’t something that people, or the meteorologists, actually studied, or they studied it but they only see that happening on the North Atlantic, not on the subtropical part of Brazil. Maybe in was kind of hard for them to believe it. And actually all the models that were running, by the CPTEC and INMET, didn’t forecast it, because they are not skilled to forecast hurricane. The only model that actually worked was one that was given by the National Hurricane Center, which actually modeled the displacement of a hurricane towards the coast. I remember some channels even joked about “oh, in the worst case, it will be good for surf” or something like that.
